Need somewhere to rant and get advice. I’m part of a friend group of people who met in undergrad and each of them has been getting married. No issues. However, this one girl is getting married this year and the whole experience has been nothing short of a nightmare from the moment she announced her engagement.

This girl seems to think the entire world revolves around her. From the first day she announced the main event, nothing has been consistent or clear INCLUDING all the dates, locations, times for EVERY event. Even continuing to add random events throughout with very minimal notice. We are all expected to drop everything at a whim and attend her never ending steam of events with no notice or time to prepare. And if we aren’t available, she has been chastising us asking why we can’t just not go to work, why we even have to work in the first place, and that our availability is frustrating. Just blatant disregard and inconsiderate behaviour. She recently had a bridal shower and even the DAY OF changed the location and timing numerous times, and then made everyone pay their OWN bills. Then had the audacity to ask for a bachelorette party too, again with no notice. It’s a struggle to be understanding of this big occasion in her life, but also feel respected with our morals and basic human decency. It seems everything is done with no care or consideration of the people involved and it’s become clear that everything is for show with no substance.

She is now (within a few weeks of the first events) asking for bridesmaids but refuses to tell people what she expects from them, despite having had about a year to think about it since the engagement. She has also decided to continue to keep adding more events with again no explanation, location, or times listed. We all live in different cities so traveling is not as easy for everyone and not knowing where things will be in advance is extremely hard to accommodate. She also expects us to behave in certain ways, wear certain clothes, and perform highly specific tasks, despite some of the people only knowing her for a few months. I feel this is a lot to ask of people you don’t know very well and again underlies the very self-centred thinking. There is so much more about this story but I just wanted to know what to do.

Hello friends, I wanted to share my experience today picking up accreditation and uniforms in Toronto. Shoutout to the incredible staff who helped everything run smoothly!

1. You will need to bring the ID specified in your application, and this will be mentioned in your email confirmation prior to your pickup slot. You will not be able to pick up your accreditation without it. Do NOT take photos of your pass or share with anyone. They are very very strict about this.

2. You may need to retake your photo for your accreditation pass there for validation. When I was there, some (including myself) who tried to use the self serve kiosks needed to see an attendant and retake a photo.

3. You will need to head into building “L” to pickup your accreditation pass BEFORE heading into the main building (where tryouts were) to pickup uniforms. There is great signage and lots of staff inside the building to guide you on where to go.

4. You will need to present your accreditation pass to receive a ticket indicating your queue order to try on the uniform.

5. You will be able to try on the shirt and the pants, try to wear something you can change quickly into as there are only a few changing areas. Each pop-up changing area has a mirror. I found them relatively spacious.

6. As others have stated, the shorts and the pants do not fit the same for women. I needed to try every size and ended up needing a much differently sized pant than short. You must have all items from the men’s kit or the women’s kit.

7. You will then try on the shoes, they may be out of some sizes but generally I found that my size was true to size. Some found them to fit slightly larger so they went down half a size.

Most importantly, relax and have fun! The energy is great and everyone is excited to be involved. Can’t wait to get started!
