I bought a Roborock Q8 Max 18 months ago for $450 on Black Friday. The original price was $650.
It’s been 18 months since I purchased it. I had to change the rolling brushes after 8 months of use. Spare parts were not available on the official website, so I had to buy from Amazon. Sellers on eBay and Amazon are third-party sellers claiming to be original sellers. The brushes fit, but my mop started to shake after a few weeks.
I wrote to Roborock support. No response.
After a year of use, my original dustbin and water tank combo unit started to get moldy. I did some research and realized you can’t open the mop part to clean it , you need to break the plastic to open it and you cant re attach it. I went to their official website and couldn’t find a replacement since they never stock outdated mop parts.
I contacted support again. They told me many sellers sell the parts. I bought and installed the tank. Now my mop can’t draw water from the tank.
Roborock is a scam.
They don’t have service, spare parts, or customer support in the USA. They sell you a high-value product, take your money, and when you have a problem, you realize you only made a one-time payment for one-time service. It’s not fixable you just have to buy a new product.
I am a victim of a classic predatory business tactic sell a premium product at a high price, provide zero after-sales support, make spare parts unavailable, and force customers to buy a new unit. Roborock took $450 from me and disappeared when I needed help. If you’re considering this brand, think twice. A product is only as good as the support behind it
