Roborock Q7 aggresive after cleaning

I love this thing. I have it since last christmas. But a couple weeks ago it started to stand still after cleaning instead of going back to the docking station.

Since yesterday it goes rampage after cleaning. Restarting or upgrading the firmware didn't help.

QRevo Edge 2 Owner

Recently purchased a QRevo Edge 2 to replace my S8+ after a mishap with some dog poop…

Spent countless hours, Claude sessions and YouTube videos figuring out what unit to get and landed on the newly released Edge 2! First unit arrived defective and refused to charge or dock properly. Returned to Amazon and Roborock gave me a $40 discount and two free bags (lol); their customer service is such a negative.

The new unit has been working flawlessly! What sold me on a new release with little reviews was the fact this model has 90% of the Saros 20 features in a much cheaper unit and more tried and true lidar based navigation instead of time of flight.

So far, the cleaning, navigation, dock and all else has been incredibly good. Things like the ability for the robot to leave the mop pads, lower its lidar when needed and identify wet messes when vacuuming via the camera have worked great in my real world use cases. I’ve had 0 issues both in navigation with two dogs and a messy fiancée. Mopping has been incredibly effective and vacuuming while not a data driven test, does seem better with the higher alleged 25,000 pa of suction. I don’t need threshold climbing which the Saros 20 has although this does have a higher threshold climbing ability. The only feature the Saros 20 has as well as the Edge 2 Pro (not currently sold in the U.S.) is the adapt lift chasis is used to lower or raise the robot on carpet for a better suction seal, versus this having a powered, raised or lowered brush head. How well does one work over the other? Who’s to say. But that was the main feature I felt I was giving up on.

All in all, given the speed these models change and the ever growing list of models. The Edge series has always has strong reviews from online reviewers and the Edge 2 was a great choice to get alot go the flagship features without flagship pricing or headaches I’ve seen of people with Saros 20!

Hope this helps some sad soul in the rabbit hole of purchase fatigue.

Do not disturb on but vacuum still announcing everything

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I have the option checked off that during certain hours (at night), my Roborock is not supposed to make announcements but it still does.

Q10 S5+. Does anyone else find water leaks out of the rubber cap from the onboard water tank?

When I take out the water tank/dust bin combo from the unit to refill it, I typically find water laying underneath the dust bin. It seems to come out of the rubber cap when the water moves around.

[Academic] Own or ever owned a robot vacuum? Repair behavior survey (Everyone)

Hi r/SampleSize,

I'm a final-year business student at KLU Hamburg writing my bachelor thesis on consumer repair behavior for robot vacuums.

The survey takes 8–10 minutes and is open to anyone who currently owns or has previously owned a robot vacuum — brand and price range don't matter, and you qualify whether you still have it or not.

The study explores how owners feel about their devices and what they decide when something breaks: repair, replace, or something else. It feeds into a broader thesis on when it makes strategic sense for manufacturers to invest in repair programs beyond what EU regulation requires.

How to fix this wheel noise?

I have a fairly new roborock qrevo curv 2 pro. But the front wheel makes so much noises, its not normal. This is not my first robotvacuum.

How can i pull out this wheel housing? I don't see any screws and i'm afraid to break it.

Any tips on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Many of the cleaning windows have been revised upward , maintenance suddenly feels like F1

I know this is a very domestic robot problem, but it’s weirdly one of the better examples of “autonomy meets reality” in my house. The robot can map fine. It can avoid the big furniture. It can find the dock. Great. Then real life enters the arena. Dog water bowl moved 18 inches. Kid drops a hoodie in the hallway. Work call starts early. Cat decides the charging dock is suspicious. Suddenly the clean run that was supposed to take 42 minutes is now 68 minutes with three pauses and me acting like pit crew because the side brush ate a bread tie. What I’m trying now is less “clean the whole house” and more tiny missions. Kitchen after breakfast. Entryway after school pickup. Living room only after pets are fed. Bedroom never during nap time because I enjoy being alive. The interesting part is that scheduling around pets, kids, and work feels less like a software feature and more like human robot traffic control.

I’m curious if anyone here has treated home cleaning robots this way, almost like task planning with messy dynamic obstacles, not just consumer convenience. What signals would actually help? Motion sensors? Calendar hooks? Pet feeding times? Or are we still mostly relying on humans to know when the robot should not be brave?

Saros Z70 Replacement Brush

Hi all,

I’m in the market for a replacement brush for my Saros Z70. The app says it’s only done 151hrs of cleaning but the rubber flaps appear to have softened and it’s not picking up lint from my carpets very well ATM.

I know it doesn’t look like the original but is this “official”? Seller claims to be Roborock UK on Amazon but thought it best to check here before I order anything.

The main reason I’m considering it is because I haven’t been that impressed with the pickup of this robot compared to my old Roomba J7+ and a slightly different brush might not be a bad idea…

Did they change the design of it because folk were complaining that the original wasn’t that great?

Ongoing Matter issues Apple Home

Hi everyone, since i bought the QV35A i have Matter connection issues in Apple Home. Status is most of the time „updating“. I can fix it by removing the robot from Apple home for a short time, then again updating. I have latest AppleTV 4K, Homepods, Homepods mini‘s with latest Firmware as well as latest updates installed an the robot. Additionally i can say, that all other Matter products working fine. Anyone else facing issues like that and probably found a solution? Thanks

S8 Pro Ultra being weird

All of a sudden my S8 is dying when getting low battery.
So it gets to 19-20% and returns automatically for mop wash and recharging (as it should) but when it gets to the dock to wash the mop pad and drops from 19% battery to 5% and immediately turns itself off and goes offline.

It’s then unusable until I manually turn it around on the dock so it starts getting charge back into it. I thought it was a battery issues (bad cells) or something so I bought a replacement battery and it’s doing the exact same thing even with a new battery installed.

Any ideas please? Anyone else experiencing this? Has an update stuffed something up?

18 month old battery lasts 90 minutes

I have the S8 MaxV Ultra and I have been using it for 18 months. Suddenly it seems to have to return to the dock to recharge after 1.5 hours. Is this still a good amount of time for the age of the battery? I was told they can last 3 years or longer. I have the same settings since I bought it. Balanced vacuum but I do have Carpet. Boost on. Also it does a two pass in the master bedroom and the kitchen. Should I leave Carpet Boost on all the time if I have pets that shed a little?

$25 Roborock S8 Pro Ultra from the DI

Looked inside the box to make sure everything was there. Base ✅️, ramp ✅️, robot vacuum ✅️....get home to find out the base was packed on its side and the clean and dirty water tanks weren't there. Still way ahead of the game...looks like it might be time to retire the roomba

New Q Revo S Pro actually surprised me, big upgrade from my Q8

So I recently bought the Roborock Q Revo S Pro and I’m impressed with it.

Before this I had a Q8, and it was good, but there was two things that always annoyed me. First one was that it kept getting stuck around my speaker stands. Like almost every time it went near them, I had to go rescue it, until i marked it as a "no go zone" and had to clean dust manually.

The second issue was my thick wool carpet. The Q8 just couldn’t really climb it properly. I had to pull out the carpet manually for it to clean the rest of the room.

The Q Revo S Pro has been way better so far. It cleans extremelly well, and it feels more confident when moving around. It also manages to get on my carpet much better, which was honestly one of the biggest things for me.

What also surprised me is how quiet it is. I expected it to be louder, especially with how good the cleaning is, but it’s actually pretty pleasant to have running, I can attend meetings while it cleans the room.

Overall; really happy with it. I know it’s still early, but compared to my Q8 this feels like a proper upgrade. It’s quieter, cleans better, gets stuck less, and just feels more polished in daily use.

Advice re most appropriate replacement Roborock

Hi gang. I have a refurbed Qrevo (base model) and it's failing badly. Don't buy a refurbed unit.

I need to replace it with something that's going to be reliable and just work.

The space I'm cleaning is a yoga studio, about 170sqm (~1,800 sqft). It's pretty neat and tidy, and we do have a cleaning team do a full vacuum and mop once a week also.

Requirements:

  • There are big open spaces with no obstacles. It needs to be able to handle this. (My old beloved S6 managed this fine, the Qrevo handles it occasionally but usually just hallucinates extra rooms).
  • I don't need mopping at all; I'll disable it if the unit I buy has it.
  • The floor is 90% timber, with a couple of low-pile rugs.
  • Decent battery life is important. It's a pretty big space and the unit will be run twice daily.
  • A dust bag in the dock, so I don't have to empty the bin in the unit after every clean.

I'm torn between buying a cheap little unit (which is the mistake I made with the Qrevo) and a fancy, more expensive unit.

At the end of the day I want a unit that will run happily for at least a week without navigation failing or needing sensors cleaned, which doesn't seem like too much to ask right?

Thanks all for your help. Appreciate it.

(edited to add flooring details)

Rattling after main brush(es) change Saros 10R

Hello,

I've had my Saros 10R for around 10 months and just did a full maintenance on it, this is the first time I've replaced the main 2 brushes. I noticed there was some locktight on the screws when I removed them. After replacing them I'm noticing some new noises. At first I tightened them super tight and it sounded like the brushes were contacting the underside plate. When I loosened them a bit that seemed to fix it for a little bit but then I got a constant rattling. When I looked again one of the screws had almost unscrewed itself.

Are there any official torque specs I am missing or tips for the main brush replacement? I want to keep enjoying this vacuum for a long time!

Thanks

Cheapest Roborock Vacuum with cleaning Docking Station

What would you consider the cheapest GOOD vacuum for a very small area?
I need only vacuum, my floor can not get wet, it is oiled hardwood that needs special oily soap. It is 100% all hardwood. I want a dock that charges the robot and empties the dust bin.
The total area the vacuum would need to cover is less than 20m2 (ca 200 sq feet), I am just too lazy to carry my Saros 10 upstairs :P

I do not need a perfect robot, if I wanted to, then I would get another Saros 10, which I really love and performed flawlessly so far.

Finding a cheaper model is so much harder then just buying the top of the line :/

Used Roborock S5 a good deal?

I’m new to the robot vacuum world, but really intrigued. Don’t necessarily want to spend $300+ right now on something I’m not totally sure I’ll like. Someone is selling a used Roborock S5 for 50 on marketplace with extra parts and still totally functioning. Do you think that’s a good deal for me to test the waters with vacuum and mop combo? From what I’ve read, S5 is solid just a little outdated.
