Question about studying medicine in Germany after HSC (Bangladesh)
Hi everyone, I’m from Bangladesh and I will take my HSC exam in 2027. I’m interested in studying a medicine-related subject in Germany for my undergraduate degree. From what I’ve learned, students in Germany usually complete 13 years of schooling, while in Bangladesh we complete 12 years (SSC + HSC). Because of this, I heard that Bangladeshi students often need to complete a 1-year Studienkolleg program before applying to university. However, I read that to enter Studienkolleg you need to pass an entrance exam, and after studying there for one year you must take the final exam (Feststellungsprüfung). Then, depending on your exam results and German language level, you can apply to medical universities. My questions are: 1.Does entering Studienkolleg always require an entrance exam? 2.What kind of preparation is needed for that exam? 3.What German language level is required for Studienkolleg? 4. Is IELTS required for Studienkolleg or medical studies in Germany? 5. Is it possible to apply directly to a German medical university without Studienkolleg? 6.If I study 1 year in a medical college in Bangladesh, learn German up to B2/C1, and also take IELTS, would it be possible to apply directly to medical universities in Germany? In that case, would I need to take any additional exams? I would really appreciate any advice or guidance from people who know about this process. Thank you!
