Help me craft a steam chalice

Yall know of anyway I can make one without a coconut. Im trying to chose a style to make with this wild clay I have and the bowl can be made from it that is typically terracotta. I have native river reed or elderberry ima use for stems. Just need to think up a natural method for the bottom water reservoir.

Anyone make one before? Both traditional Jamaican style or your diy? Also tryna figure out if this is a lil better than my arizer as fast as anti combustion cause I was liking the flavor of vaping but having trouble with the amount of time it took for the solo 2 to get the medicine delivered lol. Seeing them rip the chalice seems like it’s more my style.

Who needs a lamp when ya got sun flowers to brighten a dark corner

Made this with some thistle after I recently learned the story of the association with my Celtic heritage. It’s like a bouquet of culture lol. Pretty funny story about an invader stepping on one barefoot and exposing the invasion through a scream😅. So the dim corner got some protection too from any lurking 😂

How much does this intersect with south eastern Native American style beliefs/practices

Any one here have the Irish-Choctaw/creek mix and mended the two to make a personal practice? Dont really have elders around me in these practices that I know of and it’s hard to find info but I’ve learned intuition and intention cloaked in respect are the dankest factors in these practices so I know it brings out some creative practices from you guys. Especially when you get connected with nature and it starts dropping those downloads on you lol.

Also have any of these intentful actions been legit therapy for you the way they have been for me? I’ve not done anything concerning Celtic paganism intentionally, but there seems to be a lot similar with all the native cultural reconnection I’ve been doing. I want to be able to acknowledge both ancestral lines at the same time while connecting to both. So especially tell me if any of the practices you do have been legit therapeutic! I’m kinda passively writing these down as they work easily so I can share them with anyone.

Anyone here dabbling with learning Ogham

Started last night and so far it is insanely simple and I’d say if any of you want to learn a cool code language but have been deterred, and have a natural affinity to symbolism, go for it. I’m pretty sure everything fits on a singular page lol. Atleast what I’ve found so far. I’m sure it deepens which is why I’m here. Lookin for material or YouTubes on this! Started notes on this page last night plus a little more of the vocabulary in regards to the words used to name parts of the language. It’s so fun and I’m just here lookin to make connections with anyone learning and build the material !

What dat isss? A problem?

Couple things I can suggest as the cause. First is the holes may be from weedeating around it to fast. But the brown spots I’m unsure. There’s a Chinese tallow shaking pollen above it rn,that’s what the li brown things are, it’s pollen stigmatas(?) I wanted to make sure this isn’t a disease like I read on google. But I didn’t see any bugs or caterpillars on em just now either. So I’m unsure. I am in Louisiana so humidity is another possibility. Or sun burn… so I’m asking experienced eyes lol. Also if it’s water related lmk what a humid climate should aim for, should I just let nature handle them?

Hey rockers, what are some safe options like catlinite and pipestone to make pipes with?

I’ve gotten into clay and wood pipe making recently. I’ve learned a lot about the traditional pipes the Lakota and other indigenous groups made with pipestone/catlinite or I’ve seen other archaeological finds that were made from a type of black agate. Even dating back before them to Mississippians periods, there were pipes made from this stone. Is there any other options I can find in America (preferably cheaper) to carve with? Maybe you know a supplier? Found catlinite but looking for options.

Couple questions

Do you prune? To promote growth or any other reason? Also wanted to know if there’s a way I can play with the younger leaves with drying anchoring to practice and get a better understanding of curing process. I know they aren’t at their full potential but I also smoke herb and would love some lower nicotine content leaves to roll in if possible. So any tips on curing/drying to get that in humid southern environments talk to me!

Lookin for pipestone/catlinite

Has anyone used black bear-haversack trading post? Got recommended them yesterday for blocks of stone and wanted to make sure. Or does anyone know where I can get it for that price? Everyone who works them into pipes is charging too much for my spending rn. Plus I like to learn all the skills we would’ve back in the day. I started messing with pottery/clay recently and had the idea to make a pipe end and naturally ended up here again.

Any tips too I’d love to hear em as far as working it. I hear it’s easy, I have a basic small round (3/8inch ish ) file and a metal wood chisel. Not sure what else I’d need but im intrigued and would love to learn it. Eventually will have my own stand at one of the fairs and website with all my craftin skills. Right now I just do trades and commissions, which if anyone wants some art and would trade a pre- worked piece and stem I’d love you lol.

What’s the info on this one? Caught it many times as a native to Louisiana on the Viking/norse tv shows. I have some theories but they could be totally wrong. My idea is the cross is a f u but a secret f u war strategy that was basically them saying “yeahh sure we’ll dance with your silly religion, but only cause we respect the violence your using to spread and force it!” “But we’re just gonna stretch out the top of the cross here a lil once you leave the village and show the world we lived to tell the tale and didn’t conform.”

Dont be a dick I’m being inquisitive here lol.

Looking to make a pipe end like the Lakota one but with clay if possible. Got the idea from the Moroccan end pieces for their version. I made one out of some white clay found on the same spot and having it drying while waiting for answers. Any tips!?
