Pass/No-Pass or Let It Ride?

I am a junior in college and am currently preparing to apply in the fall. My grades are admittedly not fantastic (3.5), and so I have been loading my class schedule with classes that I don’t need and can boost my gpa. I am able to do this bc I am advanced in my degree and have ample space.

I am currently taking a class outside my major, ANTH 171. I thought it would be easy but it’s super hard, and I after missing an assignment I could not possibly get a grade that would raise my gpa, it would only hurt it.

Would it be better, admissions wise, to pass/no-pass the class or to just let my gpa fall? I am worried about how a pass/no-pass would look on an application.

Any advice greatly recommended.
