I recently finished my friend's book, Novice Enthusiasm, and found it very resonant. He's a self-taught creative professional that has really been through it, navigating life as a JW and more recently as a POMO divorced dad of three - what a stud. I haven't posted in a while but I felt compelled to jump on here and share it with y'all. Maybe some of you relate to the feeling of leaving the restrictions of the Borg to then struggle with imposter syndrome or perfectionism. I personally often feel like I'm still not doing what I want to because I'm late to the game or the least educated in the room. Reading his book really inspired me to get up and do some personal reflection and pull out the old projects. It reminded me of all the hard work I did to get the fuck out and up. Plus, if you're a creative person, he has some good ideas of how to get the juices flowing again. It's a fun, quick read that I highly recommend buying. Plus, you'll be supporting a fellow ex-Jdub!
