Would love some advice please..
My cat was diagnosed with IBD 18 months ago and at that point he was 4kg ( he was normally about 5.5kg) wasn't eating and was having a lot of diarrhoea and lots of vomiting.
Since then, I managed to nurse him back to health by feeding him roast chicken to get him to start eating again and then back on his normal food. He was on prednisolone and has been to this day.
He was back to 4.8kg, lots of energy and his normal, happy self and has been stable for a year.
A few weeks ago , he started violently pulling out his fur in clumps to the point where he had a big board spot above his tail. He had a couple of vomiting incidents which were mainly water with grass, and I witnessed to mild diarrhoea type poos.
I took him to the vet on Tuesday and she checked him over.
He had no temperature, no skin issues, was perfectly hydrated and was physically fine in every way.
She gave him a short acting steroid injection called dexadreson and an anti-nausea injection.
Since then, he has gone downhill.
12 hours after having those two injections, he became very sleepy and slept all day yesterday and then yesterday evening he stopped eating, even dreamies or chicken or a bit of cheese couldn't tempt him.
It is now exactly 48hrs after he had the injections.
I just wondered if anybody else has had their cat experienced these symptoms after having those two injections and whether it is just a temporary side effect and their improved after 48 hours they and got back to their normal self?
