So i am looking to buy my first turntable, and am considering the AT-LPW40WN which i can get for 280€.

But ive seen a lot of people on reddit saying vintage turntables are better, so after a bit of research ive found Technics SL-D2 for around 200€ on Kleinanzeigen. Assuming i can convince someone to ship it outside of Germany, is this turntable + a cheap preamp such as ART DJ pre ii, or Fosi X2 and potentially a stylus or cartrige replacement, a better setup than the Audio technica for about the same price?

And also, how much am i gambling buying a used tt, and then having to spend even more fixing it?
