Hi all,
I’m working on a 2003 Suzuki Ignis I (M13A engine, manual, 166k km) and recently replaced all three engine mounts with KAVO Parts aftermarket mounts.
Since replacing them, I’m now experiencing vibration in the cabin, especially at idle and low RPM. The old mounts were quite worn, but I couldn’t source exact OEM replacements.
For installation, I followed a proper sequence to avoid preload: all mounts were installed loosely first, the engine was allowed to settle in a neutral position, and then everything was tightened in sequence. All central M10 through-bolts were torqued to 55 Nm, based on a general torque chart.
Is it normal for aftermarket mounts to be noticeably stiffer than OEM and cause increased vibration? Or could this still point to preload/misalignment despite following the installation procedure? Also, is 55 Nm a reasonable torque for these through-bolts, or could that be too high?
Any advice appreciated!
