AITAH for how I’ve reacted in this situation??
Okay so for some background context, I (18f) had three best friends, we will call them Cally (18f), Lyla (18f), and Caden (18f). we had a pretty basic friend group dynamic. I did have a hard time opening up about things from a past situation so if something bothered me I would get passive aggressive instead of communicating but I have since worked on it. What started this whole situation that I’ve come here to discuss was Lyla getting a boyfriend. now you might be asking why that matters well, Lyla got this boyfriend who is known to be a bad person. he previously dated Cally’s cousin and then tried to ask both me and Cally out. We just wanted to watch out for us but instead she told us “it was just a game” then she lied to us about them dating and when she finally told us she began acting weird. Always leaving to be with him, if they were together around us they would be all on each other in a weird way that made us all uncomfortable. When this was expressed to her it all blew up and she left the group. for the most part nothing was said to or about her after that besides me reposting one tiktok that was about the situatio. she messaged me and blew up and sent me screenshots of her and Caden talking bad about me saying very rude things (i was weird for liking heated rivalry, I don’t deserve to win the patent in our town, and that I was boy obsessed (I am 18 and have had a total of 2 serious relationships and haven’t kissed a boy.)) I confronted them all about it to which they call, besides Cally, blew up and said more mean things. since I have not spoken to either Lyla. I then apologized to Caden for the sake of peace since him and Cally are close. I didnt really speak to him unless prompted to keep it polite and we never spoke outside of school (we all have a bunch of classes together). But here is where it gets worse. He and Cally promised they would be each others date to prom since he got left during homecoming. he then continued to bale on her appointments for prom (dress picking, dress fitting, etc) so I went instead. I didn’t talk bad but I did say it was rude to bale after he was baled on And I did get a bit more distant from him. He then sent Cally a paragraph which was him baling on her for prom saying they needed space and I made him miserable. He has since acted to Cally as if he never said that so pretty much he just baled on her for prom saying they needed space but pretend like that never happened and continued to act like it wasn’t said. I decided after that I just wouldn’t speak to him at all which yes makes it akward but I won’t laugh with someone I don’t like the POV’s of. He’s obviously noticed and texted me and told me to speak to him so I tried to which he attacked me and I will be honest I was immature and attacked back. I then blocked him and left it at that. He then reached out to Cally and told her to text me. I simply expressed I don’t like his character and don’t want to speak to him to which he called me a hypocrite and immature so I told him this is why I haven’t spoken to him and won’t and blocked him again. Now him baling on Cally is not the only reason I do not like his characte. He talks bad about everyone then goes to hang out with them, he got in between the relationship of a man and his girlfriend and they had a situationship while he would be friends with the girlfriend, and then circling back to the OG messages.
the reason I have come here is because i want to ask, am I being the A hole by my reactions and am I being dramatic to the things he’s done?
