Fanatec vs Moza long term?

So I’m looking to upgrade my current set up in about a month, so I’ve been doing a ton of research on different brands. I have generally heard the opinion from different reviews and comparisons that Fanatec has the better overall ecosystem, but Moza is very good with what they do have and at a better price.

One thing that I haven’t seen any reviewer talk about is how each company grows/what direction they are headed. I know Fanatec is upgrading their quick release system, so not everything is quite compatible anymore, and I’ve heard some of their products are a little old and outdated. That said, most reviewers praise their overall ecosystem, upgradability, and their peripherals have good reviews. Meanwhile, Moza seems to have compatibility in mind for all their wheel bases and is slowly filling out the gaps they currently have in their ecosystem, but their peripherals seem to either target the budget or top end of the market right now. There also doesn’t seem to be the best upgradability especially with pedals.

So my question is; do you guys imagine Moza dominating the market in the future and overall just coming in at a better price and just as good of products? Or Do you think Fanatec will stay competitive and stay worth the money? Do you think Moza will fill out their line of peripherals to suit more price points and maybe have more options for incremental upgrades? I just have not been around this niche long enough to tell which company is headed in the better direction.

Edit: Also I guess if anyone has any points about each companies customer support, software, or aftermarket mods, that also seems relevant for comparing the two ecosystems.

Hey guys, I’m quite the noob when it comes to hardware. Currently driving on basically a toy wheel with no ffb and it’s like 10” wide lol. My gear shift just broke and I don’t think I could even find a replacement for this off brand junk. So I think it’s finally time yo upgrade.

I have a budget of around $300-$400 right now, but will have more in the coming months. I mostly just want an ok wheel with FFB, 3 pedals, and an H-pattern shifter. I’d also love to get a hand-break but it’s not necessary for this immediate replacement set up. All that said, I plan on slowly upgrading all of those parts one by one to eventually have a pretty decent rig. I don’t need top notch quality right now, but I’m looking for upgradability.

So my question: Which brand has the best budget starter option that you can upgrade over time. I’ve found plenty of reviews of budget options, or nicer options, but rarely find people talking about compatibility and ease of upgrade.

Or am I just being stupid and everything within the same brand will work with anything else from that brand?
