Help Beginners in need! 13 hens and one Rooster!

Hello everyone!

My husband and I are closing on our first home in 3 weeks! And lucky for us the house comes with 13 hens and one rooster!

Trouble is, not only are we completely NEW to this. Our property is only an Acre (including the part our home is on), so space is not super limited but still not amazing.

The previous owners do have a coop set up and a pretty sizeable run. I haven't measured, so I am not 100% sure on the actual sqftage of the run. I also believe that the sellers allowed them to free roam for most of the day. I will not be able to do so. I am considering increasing the run size due to our inability to let the chickens roam as much as they are used to.

I've done some basic research so far just to get an idea of what our lives are going to look like with 14 new pets. But I trust that you all will be able to provide me with better tips than google!

Any suggestions or recommendations are extremely welcomed! We are going in completely blind so any help counts! Thanks in advance!

I am cross posting to multiple threads, hopefully that is allowed.
