First time DMT – NB-DMT Freebase Changa (herbal joint form)
I’m planning my first DMT experience and I ordered the NB-DMT Freebase Changa herbal mix (the one that’s currently sold as Vine/Leaf/Crystal variants). From what I understand, NB-DMT is a prodrug that turns into regular N,N-DMT when heated, blended with herbs and sometimes MAOIs (harmine etc.) to make it more like traditional Changa.
Quick summary for those who don’t know: It’s a smokable herbal blend (mullein, mint, etc.) infused with ~38-42% NB-DMT freebase. You can roll it into a joint or smoke it in a pipe/bong. It’s marketed as a legal-ish research chemical alternative right now.
Since this will be my first time with any DMT, I have some questions:
- Can you briefly describe the 15-20 minutes after smoking DMT/Changa? How does the beginning feel, the moment you get pulled in, and how it ends/comes back?
- Has anyone here tried this specific NB-DMT Changa (not regular extracted DMT)? How does it compare?
- I’ve read that Changa (especially with MAOIs) can last a bit longer and feel smoother/stronger than pure vaporized DMT. Is that accurate?
- Is it okay to start with a very low dose just to feel light effects and understand the headspace before going deeper? What would be a good starter dose for this herbal mix?
- I’m thinking of doing it alone in my room, lying on my bed. Is there a big risk of losing complete control or panicking like with Salvia? I’m a bit scared of that “no escape, fighting it” feeling.
Any advice, trip reports, or harm reduction tips for a first-timer with the Changa form would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
