Our dog desperately needs a trim, but it seems cockapoo hair is a real mission to cut, and it's beaten two sets of clippers already.

Any recommendations for a model that actually works, and that isn't too pricey?

I don't trust Amazon 5* reviews, and I don't mind if they're corded.
