Dear families, au pairs, and community, this is a personal message from me as founder of Nina.care to update you on important news.
This week, the court reached a clear verdict in our first legal case against we filed the IND. For Lyla and me, this process has been an intense learning experience and gave us firsthand insight into the complexity of legal and regulatory procedures within our industry.
The court declared our objection well-founded and annulled the IND’s previous decision completely. The IND was also ordered to reimburse all of the legal and procedural costs.
The judge recognized that the issues mainly concerned administrative shortcomings from our startup phase (2020–2021). While a substantial part of the administrative findings remains in place, for which we take responsibility, the total fine has been reduced by approximately 20%.
This process forced us to thoroughly audit and rebuild our internal compliance, documentation, and operational systems. Looking back, we acknowledge that our administrative foundation during our early startup years was not yet where it needed to be. Over the past years, we have worked extensively to professionalize our organization and strengthen our compliance standards.
We see this ruling not as an endpoint, but as part of an ongoing process of growth, accountability, and improvement. Our focus remains on building a transparent and reliable organization for the families, nannies, and au pairs we serve across Europe. We continue as an Eurpean platfrom and aim to keep improving our matching algorithm and add pocketmoney outpaymenst soon to ensure safe payments to our au pairs and families.
