lotr inspired ring (very very late post)
I got engaged last July 2025 and we just eloped March 2026 and I realized I never shared my ring on this sub after being a lurker for so long💀
When we decided that we would be getting married, I told my bf to go get me a silver ring from pandora or something and call it a day but he insisted on getting me something nice. So knowing that he was going to drop some serious $$ on the engagement ring and wedding band I wanted to make sure it would be something I actually liked versus a generic pre-designed one.
My requirements were:
- White gold (not a gold tone girly)
- Small stone
- Stone must sit a low as possible
- Symmetric
- not generic
The Christmas before, we were at his parents house and went through his Mom’s jewelry to pick out a stone to use (she set a lot of pieces aside for us to choose from). With those stones in mind, I slapped together some inspiration photos and designs of my own for him to use as a reference, that way he couldn’t go wrong (see last two images).
Anyway I was delighted with what he was able to get custom made. It’s the perfect size stone (ended up being from his mother’s necklace; I think its 0.9 ct?) and the wedding band looks amazing on its own also. I wanted it to look like an elven ring from lord of the rings and he did not disappoint (in fact many people have told me it looks like its from lotr without me prompting them🤭).
(Please excuse my stubby nails, I work with my hands in a lab and also climb)
TLDR: engaged july 2025, married march 2026, perfect lord of the rings inspired ring and wedding band
