INTERNSHIP IS KILLING ME

So I got a ₹5k/month remote MERN stack internship… sounded good at first.

But honestly, the workload feels insane.

My entire effective day goes into the internship, and I barely get time for LeetCode, AI, or even proper self-study anymore. I’m sleeping less too.

It’s SIX working days a week, with 2 meetings daily. In every meeting, the founder asks for progress, says I’m “slow,” or keeps asking where I’m stuck — even when building features naturally takes time.

They gave me Cursor Pro, so now it’s basically a full-on vibe coding engineering job. And people act like Cursor means “easy work,” but it still takes real effort. Even with Cursor, I took 2–3 days to build a feature: an admin-side policy configuration and management system with multiple levels like global, category, product, etc.

The founder seems to expect full-day engineering output for ₹5k/month.

It’s only been 1 week and I already feel exhausted.

I’m thinking of continuing for 1 month just to get some experience on my resume, but I’m worried they may not even give a certificate because the contract says 3 months.

Need advice from people who’ve dealt with internships/startups like this.

so i got an offer as a fullstack intern at a relatively new startup. it's an agri-tech e-commerce platform (connecting local farmers / pure non-preservative products to city people). joining on 20th may.

i'm in 6th sem (almost ended), in my 4th year of college. it's compulsory to do a 6-month internship, and i want a good 30k+ intern as sde or ai intern at a product company (and target 10 lpa+ as fte). i haven't learned ai yet.

how can i make the most of this period? how much time should i spend on:

  • internship work
  • dsa (leetcode)
  • dev (intern + extra projects)
  • ai (python + langchain + rag)
  • open source (gssoc)

i'm from a newer iiit. would really appreciate practical advice on what to prioritize and how to plan the next 6 months.
