Bald eagle argument

Bald eagle argument

I’ve recently seen this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/4nKrGXgaSMc?is=dSMlRFfCzjtcyfKQ

The author argues that if bald eagle’s eggs are legally protected, because they are considered as a valuable form of life, then human life should also be protected from conception.

I found that argument interesting, but not really convincing. Bald eagle eggs are protected, because they are an endangered specie. Just like in some places it’s forbidden to fish during April, because of spawning. Eggs are protected only to ensure that some species won’t go extinct. And we don’t want animals to go extinct.

There is a really big difference between humans and animals. It’s completely legal to just crack chicken eggs, since chickens are not an endangered specie and neither are humans. A pro choice counter argument could be that extinction isn’t really a threat for humans, so that argument would just prove that abortion is permissible.

What do you think about this argument?
