I don't want to think about the game, the series, the fact that we lost, or the way it all ended. But I do want to appreciate Hagel.

That man left every last bit of himself on that ice in all 7 games of the series. Whether it was scoring, fighting, or even defending an open net to give us even a slight chance to win. Whatever happens in the future, I hope Hagel is a big part of it.

So, thank you Bagel man. You were truly the MVP of this series and I respect the fuck out of you.

Was this Vasy's fault too?

Edit: a 70 mile an hour puck covers 15 feet in .146 seconds. Human reaction time is on average .250 seconds. This is not PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE to stop by human standards if it is placed properly and you aren't already guessing where the puck is going to go. This shot never should have happened and just because Vasy didn't magic his hand into the correct position of a perfectly placed puck does not mean it's his fault. Maybe don't leave him out to dry 1 on 1 with a dog shit line change.

Edit2: people are bringing up a lot of how low percentage that shot is. But the biggest point of this is showing that we had 4 people away from the play who allowed that shot to occur. Maybe it is a low percentage shot, but numbers aren't everything and a goalie is a last line of defense. They shouldn't have had such a shit lane change that allowed to happen and putting it all on Vasy isn't fair.

Gonna start by saying, has Vasy had 1 or 2 hiccups this series? Yeah. Has he been the main problem? Absolutely not.

As Lightning fans we are absolutely SPOILED with our goalie performance. This team has been absolutely carried by Vasy through a lot of this series as well as the regular season. We're honestly lucky we haven't been absolutely blown out at times with the opportunities and shots we allow on him.

Example, game 3, we allowed THREE BREAKAWAYS and Vasy stopped all 3. That's insane. That's like going into a shootout and stopping the first 3 shots. To put any significant blame on him absolutely boggles my mind.

We have people turning the puck over constantly, people not laying out to block shots, we allow grade A chances multiple times a game. Also how many times are we going to allow a breakaway on our own fucking power play? I swear it happens AT LEAST once a game, if not more.

You wanna put blame on people? Where has Raddysh been? Where has Kuch been? Where have our lower lines been? How about stop turning the puck over constantly or don't let them skate right into our zone like they're walking through a fucking turnstile.

Hearing people talk shit about Vasy's play is seriously infuriating and it straight up pisses me the fuck off, because if you've watched these games even a little it's clear that Vasy is one of the only people on the ice who actually is doing what he's supposed to. He's a Vezina candidate but he can't do it all by himself. Insane takes all round.

Edit: I'm adding in a comment I just made. "People are completely ignoring how big a part defense plays into how well a goalie looks. It's like having a star running back behind a dog shit offensive line. Like sure, they might get a few good runs but they're still gonna struggle. It's like what happened when Saquon Barkley went to the Eagles."

So yes, he's gonna struggle at times when our defense is straight up ass juice in protecting him.

Final edit: The "Vasy hasn't" looked as good since our cup years statements are bullshit. The difference is we actually had a defense during our cup years. We weren't turning the puck over numerous times a game. We weren't allowing breakaways multiple times a game. There were always people blocking for Vasy and fighting for the puck. It's cause and effect. Save percentage? Expected goals? This is all just rhetoric but if you just look with your eyes you can see he's not being helped like he should be. He's the sum of the parts of this teams play.
