[NOR (3) - CAN 2] Lightning prospect Noah Steen gives Norway the lead back on the power play
Honest question - how much of the Darren Raddysh success story this year was from playing with JJ Moser?
I've always had the thought that Moser made Raddysh look good with his defensively responsible play which unlocked Raddysh to be the offense guy (at least on 5v5 even strength).
Edit: just wanted to add in that Raddysh was a guy who struggled to break a lineup or get decent minutes in previous years, gets paired with Moser, and turns out to be a superstar.
2nd PP, why doesn't Lightning use it anymore?
Does 1st PP all-the-time hurt team overall?
- If other Lightning players got more chances to score on PP, could that help bottom 6 & others confidence.
- Seems giving 2nd unit PP time would help development, give those players scoring confidence, and could build better locker-room chemistry.
- Both young-guns looked good in game 6 & 7 after scoring their goals = Amazing what confidence does for goal scoring!!!!
- Lightning use to play 2 PP units, but it seem since Kucherov is always in Art Ross race yearly. Those PP opportunities for 2nd unit does not happen anymore. PP is now Kucherov most touch puck on every PP.
- Maybe injecting PP confidence throughout Lightning lineup during regular season might help bottom 6 confidence & moral going into playoffs.
- With more quality minutes for secondary players: Who knows what overall scoring could be like then? Shoot, Gourde might of had more confidence if he and more opportunities to score easier goals here & there.
- Some players grind all-the-time on newer version post Cups, while some players are given easier work = This could cause looker room issues.
- Love Lightning and players, hope staff figures out scoring issues.
Option if we don’t can’t sign Raddysh
Obviously, I would love to keep Raddysh. In the event he chooses elsewhere, Luneau would be a solid option. He’s a young RHD who can provide some offense. Needs some work defensively, but could find that in our system. We would have to trade for him, but he’s cost controlled and Anaheim has a plethora of young dman and he’s currently on the outside looking in. He could be expendable for them.

Odds of winning the 25/26 Cup
A moderator in the NHL thread deleted this post as "low effort" but I am interested in learning more about historical facts and trivia about the final 4 teams as a relatively new fan of NHL hockey (from the post Tampa Louis St Louis era) who is disappointed I can't cheer for the Lightning, Wings and now Buffalo, so hopefully Lightning fans will engage with me here.
There are four SC winning coaches and teams. Three teams have red as their primary color, a "C" in their names, and 3 American-based teams, two of which transferred from other locations (the Quebec Nordiques and Hartford Whalers). One team has made it to the playoffs in the first year of the franchise. One Canadian-based team still battles on, the oldest club with the most Cups.
I am making the lowest risk prediction for a winner, it will be someone wearing red as a primary color with a C in the team name to win this year's Cup.
Anyone else with no dog left in this hunt want to share observations and predictions?

Sam O’Reilly will be our lone prospect at the 2026 Memorial Cup!
The piece we got in the Issac Howard trade, O’Reilly has tallied 71 points (29 G, 42 A) in 56 games in both London and Kitchener during the regular season. He proceeded to tear it up during the OHL playoffs, becoming the leader in playoff goals (17 total) and finishing 2nd in playoff points (28 total), bagging the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as the OHL’s playoff MVP.
Kitchener’s first Memorial Cup game will be against host Kelowna on May 22nd. If you’re interested, it will be on NHL Network!

Our anemic offense is seriously concerning watching Buffalo light up the Habs
There wasn’t one damn game we didn’t score more than 3 games, ONE! When we arguably have one of the best top 6’s in the league.
Was Dobes a brick wall in many of our games, yes? But was it really our players not being able to finish and put the puck into the back of the net? Seems like it.
I’m hoping JBB makes some noticeable changes during the draft this year like he did when he traded Sergachev. Something’s gotta give man.
