I have a pair of Vans Hi Standard Pros. After about 6 days of riding they feel really soft and mushy especially when I lean in on toe side. I have a much older pair of Adidas Sambas which feel much much stiffer which I feel more in control with. Both are listed as 5/10 flex but are very different.

1. Anyone else find this with the Vans?

2. Any good boot experience/recommendations? Preferably real feel flex of around 7/10, Preferably proper double Boa?

I currently have a Jones Frontier 2.0. I want something that's a bit easier for switch, a bit more stable at speed but still doesn't take too much effort to turn. I'm looking at the Jones Mountain twin, is this going to be much more difficult to ride than the Frontier 2 .0 for someone with dodgy knees?
