Hello everyone! I am a knitting semi-beginner and I come begging for help.

I am working on my first too, and it's this simple lace boxy thing that is basically two panels sewn together. I'm about to be done with the first panel soon and I'm wondering, since it's lace and will definitely grow a bit with blocking, if I should block the panels first before sewing them together, or if it's better to sew first and then block the whole thing when it's done? The pattern unfortunately does not specify.
