What controller to get, formerly a playstation player

I had Playstation most of my life and I've used the PS3 and PS4 controllers via DS4 Windows when I played on my computer, but it's time to retire them as too many buttons have lost precision. I figured this would be as good a time as any to maybe explore something new. I don't like Xbox controllers so they're out. I don't have a PS5 nor ever intend to so I'm not sure getting one would be best. I'm not really interested in Valve Steam stuff unless there is a truly compelling pitch. What have people used for PC gaming controllers, how many have they tried and for how long? Looking for quality and longevity.
