I posted on this page a couple years ago but am hoping to have more luck this time around!

I’m 25F from Australia, I’ve ALWAYS wanted a penpal. I think it’s such a fun idea to get to know someone through writing letters!

Some things about me, I have an extensive list of attempted hobbies as it’s very easy for me to get excited about starting a new one (oops).

Some that have actually stuck are journaling, reading and writing. I love the philosophical and poetic ways people can string words together.

I love media, YouTube, music (very mixed music taste and a sucker for k pop), tv shows (again mixed taste and a sucker for Korean dramas) and movies! I’m currently starting a media journal to keep note of all my thoughts about my watched media as well!

I would say I’ve gone through a pretty transitional period in the last year and am currently rebuilding if you will, including being a lot less on my phone - hence the whole penpal thing

I’ve always loved the idea of journalling and I would say I have partially been doing it on and off over my lifetime in some way.

The last couple of years I have been so appreciative of seeing other people’s journalling styles and how beautiful they are and as silly as this is to admit - I have to say that it’s created a weird feeling of anxiety about just picking a pen up and writing, due to my thoughts of having the write the correct things and it look a certain way.

I know that I should not succumb to that and the real task is just that I should start, but for some reason I’m very nervous about ‘messing it up’ or doing it wrong.

I guess I’m just wondering if anyone had any tips or anecdotes for similar experiences like that - maybe so I don’t feel so silly for thinking like this ahaha
