HVAC - is Google LSA lead quality connected to how many reviews you get? Mine fell off a cliff this week (2 months of numbers)

I'm wondering if the number of leads we get from Google LSA is connected to the number of reviews we get. We're an HVAC company.

We started cleaning up our leads from around May 25th to now(June 7th), because all of a sudden we started getting a bunch of bad ones - a few people who never responded back after reaching out (Was text message LSA lead), one asking for commercial HVAC work even though nowhere on our Google profile do we say we do commercial(LSA fault in this one), and one call asking for a quote where the person just vanished.

The part that's got me stumped: our reviews haven't dropped this whole time. If anything they've been strong, including this past week. But the lead quality still tanked. So I genuinely can't tell if the two are connected or not.

Here's roughly how the last ~10 weeks have looked (leads with the good/bad split, plus reviews that came in):

Week Leads (good / bad) Reviews
10 wks ago not tracking yet 3
9 wks ago not tracking yet 12
8 wks ago 1 (1 / 0) 10
7 wks ago 6 (6 / 0) 6
6 wks ago 3 (3 / 0) 7
5 wks ago 3 (3 / 0) 5
4 wks ago 3 (2 / 1) 8
3 wks ago 1 (1 / 0) 13
2 wks ago 7 (6 / 1) 11
1 wk ago 4 (4 / 0) 2
This week 4 (1 / 3) 13

(Review weeks are approximate - that's just how Google labels them as "X weeks ago." ~90 reviews total, around 9/week.)

So leads held up and were mostly good all the way through last week, then this week 3 out of 4 were junk and I claimed them.

Questions for anyone who's run LSA for a while:

  • Have you ever seen lead volume or quality actually track with your review count/velocity?
  • Or is this just the automated-credit lead quality drop people keep complaining about since Google killed manual disputes?
  • Anything I should be checking on my end - our responsiveness/answer rate is within 1-5 minutes.

TL;DR: HVAC LSA. Reviews steady and strong for 2 months straight, but lead quality suddenly went to garbage this week (3 of 4 bad). Trying to figure out if leads and reviews are connected, or if it's something else. Appreciate any insight.
