Cult Swimming PT — Sold a ₹12k Personal Training membership through persuasion, coach completely unresponsive. Feeling scammed. Anyone else?

Wanted to share my experience because I'm genuinely frustrated and want to warn others before they make the same mistake.

What happened:

The Cult swimming team persuaded me to buy a Swimming Personal Training membership worth ₹12,000. It was a hasty decision — I wasn't planning on it, but got convinced on the spot. To add to this, the membership start date was set when I was out of town, so I lost days right off the bat without booking a single session.

The coach ghosting situation:

Before I could book any session, the coach himself told me to confirm with him on WhatsApp first before making any booking. Fair enough, I followed the process. But the guy is just... not responding. Either ignores messages, replies half-heartedly, or goes completely silent. I had basic queries — extending the start date, how to book a session — none of it got answered properly.

Where I stand now:

  • 12 days gone
  • 0 sessions booked out of 12
  • Coach still unresponsive
  • ₹12,000 spent

I've now formally written to Cult support asking for a full cancellation and refund. Haven't heard back yet.

My take:

It really feels like the goal was just to sell the PT membership and move on. Zero follow-through, zero accountability. The whole "confirm with me on WhatsApp before booking" thing feels like a trap in hindsight — because if he doesn't reply, you can't book, and days just keep ticking away.

Has anyone else faced something similar at Cult ? Did you manage to get a refund? Any tips on escalating this would be really helpful.
