I’m currently on a Bridging Visa A after lodging my Subclass 482 visa on 24 May and have a question about my situation with my partner and how it affects my visa.

• I am currently single on my 482 application (did not include partner)
• We are not de facto (we’ve only been together around 6 months) and our relationship isn't registered yet
• My partner’s visa expires in September

We are considering registering our relationship in NSW now.

My main questions are:

1. If we register the relationship now, do I need to update my 482 application immediately?
2. Or can I wait and only update it later (for example after visa grant or when requested)?
3. Will registering now affect my current 482 application in any way?
4. What is the safest approach in this situation?

I’m trying to avoid any issues or mistakes with my visa, so any advice from people who have dealt with something similar would be really appreciated.
