Should I get a credit card?

Hi, I'm a college student and I use my debit card for everything. Rent, monthly bills like a gym membership, groceries, gas, utilities and whatnot.

I don't have any income, I mean I will soon but as of right now, no income, and all of my cash flow is either from a 529 plan or my parents.

Should I just stick to a debit since I have no income, or go for a credit card? Leaning towards a secured one right now since those sound easier to get approved for. If you do suggest a credit card, which ones?

I go through around 35k a year in total expenses, not including tuition.

I just checked and I've got a 676 FICO credit score, the only reason I think I have a credit score is because I was an added user on my parent's card to pay for gas.

I am not too sure how the approval process works, the only accounts I have are a joint account with my parents where I use the debit card for expenses, and a seperate credit union account to keep track of where 529 funds go.

This is why I lean towards a secured card since I have limited "financial history" and I don't know if I'm going to get approved anywhere besides a secured card.

Any advice is appreciated.
