I am relatively new to shipping and receiving with a Fedex account. The amount I was invoiced seems way too much. The company that shipped my package out originally quoted me $40 if I had them ship the package to me. However, they said that the rates might be better if it was sent to my FedEx account and now I am left with an invoice that was 7 times the amount they quoted me.
As the description says above, the package was less than 1 lb. The contents were about 8 stainless steel necklaces. It's hard to wrap my head around that the shipping costs alone would cost $302. This is just the shipping invoice. This does not include imports and duty fees.
I tried disputing this invoice with FedEx, but was immediately rejected. There is not a lot of other information that I have on this except for the invoice. Can someone explain what the special handling charges are and why it was $102?
Does this high shipping charge have to do with having the package sent from China in the midst of this political climate with the US?
I am requesting additional information, such as accurate weight and package dimensions, from the shipper. I will try to redistribute this invoice with FedEx.
If there are any tips or similar experiences, I would love to hear and learn about them.
Thank you!!
