1 year update

I'll try to make along story short. I quit 1 year ago after about 25 years of daily.

The first 3 months was brutal with physical withdrawal mainly digestive and sleep related especially the first month which was literally 4 weeks of 24/7 indigestion and extreme insomnia and it took about 7-8 months until I didnt feel like I needed a nap ever day. It took about 10 months for the apathy to diminish and to actually start feeling normal again. I have taken 1 hit two times, once with a friend at 4/20 and once in the winter when snowed in and didnt like feeling high at all anymore so I guess Im just over it.

During the push for legalization it was touted as a cure all and basically a vitamin good for what ales you. I now believe it is one of the worst things you can consume if you have mental health issues. Also the negative effects are a slow creep that builds up over time so its easy to lie to yourself in that regard.

Pros-

mental health massive improvement, this made quitting worth it 10x over

lungs feel better

I can actually do things and leave the house later in the day and at night

its nice not being addicted to anything ( I quit caffeine also)

better concentration for reading books and learning music

better vocabulary and communication skills

cons-

I have moderate IBS and weed was the best thing for that but the overall effect on my mental health is not worth it so I just deal with it

I still grow for friends and family and it smells good sometimes I miss the flavor of a nice vape.

I dont sleep as easily but feel way better in the morning and I dream again though I would generally prefer to not remember dreams so kind of a wash on that one.
