I want to invest but how? Where to begin?and what to put it into?
Im 28F and currently work in a contracting role at €55k, with 33.33% shift premium so works out around €75-€80k with bank holiday pay and extras etc. throughout the year. I currently have a €10k loan (3years) 1st repayment is this week. I have about €16k in savings. I have a pension from a previous role with about €5k in it and don’t currently have an active pension now.
I currently pay €1,100 per month in rent.
Here’s the main point to my post:
My shares from a previous role are being paid out to me which will be around €8-9k. I don’t want to just add that to my savings and spend it. I want to invest it somehow or do something with it. Any advice on what would be the best thing to do with it, can be long term or short term. What are the best stocks/crypto/EFTs or pension AVCs etc? Or are there other ways even that aren’t the trade market route? I think I’m going to be made permanent in about a month too in my current job so that will add some extra security with a set up pension which is why I don’t have one now I’ve been holding out because I don’t know what to do just yet!
