I’ve been thinking about a way to connect the Ancient Magic arc to the school's origins. What if the real reason Salazar Slytherin left Hogwarts wasn't only the blood-purity dispute, but a disagreement over the control of Ancient Magic?
The theory is: Salazar discovered that Hogwarts was built on a massive source of Ancient Magic. He wanted to weaponize it or use it to 'purify' the wizarding world, believing only a few 'worthy' ones should wield such power. The other three founders, fearing he would become too powerful (like Isidora did), forbade its use. This would explain:
- Why the Chamber of Secrets was truly hidden (as a lab for Ancient Magic).
- Why Ancient Magic became a 'taboo' or forgotten secret.
- Why there is a natural distrust of Slytherin house for centuries.
This would make the protagonist of the first game a 'spiritual successor' who finally resolves a 900-year-old conflict that the Founders couldn't fully settle. What do you guys think?
