YOPD Adding Mirapex

Thinking out loud. Sometimes things can be isolating.

41 year-old YOPD, diagnosed on my 40th birthday. Mainly stiff in left arm and leg. Can't type and foot drags. (+) DAT scan.

Have been on Azilect with minimal improvement.

Following the SPARX3 protocol on my own. Three days a week at least of 30 minutes at least of 80% of MHR at least. Medi diet with more protein. Job is stressful though I've mitigated by going half-time, but I still have to make up the rest of the income.

I do highly visible work. After a few hard shifts people asked why I was limping.

My goal is to limp along until retirement, figuratively not physically.

I was deciding between adding C/L and a dopamine agonist.
My MDS was ok trying Mirapex, understanding I'm in a higher risk group for impulse problems (because of age and gender, no psych history).

I know I'll be on C/L eventually. I'm trying to delay it at bit to avoid dyskinesias and just I think generally scared. Wife and I think dopamine agonists are more mechanistically efficacious, but not sure that's worth a lot.

Has anyone had benefits from Mirapex? Most of the posts on here aren't encouraging and seem to be at odds with my MDS's experience.
