Bilingual Position

I have accepted my first bilingual position in a school based setting and was wondering what are some responsibilities I may have in comparison to a regular SLPA position. For those who are bilingual SLPAs are you required to translate during ARD meetings and / or IEP documents. I have provided therapy in Spanish before but was wondering what other responsibilities might arise during my time throughout this role 😊 !

Clothes going missing

Hello! I am a woman in her 20s still living at home with family. Last August-October, I noticed that my clothes had gone missing bit by bit. I noticed that items that I had never worn in my closet had begun to disappear which was strange because they had been there for YEARS without being touched. After I had found out that my clothes suddenly kept disappearing I had made a list to keep track of the items I have not seen again. It was from dresses, to skirts, to shirts, etc. and so far I have 12 clothing items I have not seen since last year. At first I was convinced that maybe my mom had accidentally donated them or had somehow gotten them lost when doing joint laundry. But it still didn’t make sense to me how a large amount of clothing could have disappeared from my closet considering it was organized and color coded. This had bothered me for months until I decided to just let it go and that it wasn’t worth the battle. It wasn’t until today that I found someone who’s living with us (a relative’s girlfriend) who has been living here for 4-5 years wearing my one of my missing articles of clothing. I thought it was so weird and that this isn’t a coincidence. After calling my mom she had told me she probably has the same clothing item as me and I should not confront her and that I was being paranoid. Despite that I decided to confront her and she went to her room after I told her that she was wearing my dress. After 20 or 30 mins went by and told she gave me the dress and told me she didn’t know it was mine and didn’t know how it ended up in her room. I checked the labels and it was indeed the dress I hadn’t seen since last year. Now that this has happened I feel very uncomfortable about living at home and scared that more of my items will go missing now that I found out my dress was in someone else’s hands . How do I move forward from here? Do I buy a lock? Do I confront her about the rest of the missing items?.

Resignation Etiquette

Hello all! I have received a new job offer but will need to resign from my other job. The school year has already ended (on summer break) so I was wondering if there are any “proper” steps I need to take when resigning from my current position. Do I have to give a formal two weeks notice or a month notice? If you have resigned from a direct school based position please let me know what steps you took when resigning.
