Not a fan of spiro
Honestly, after everything, spiro is helping clear my acne. It has been 7 months. Caused me to break out in the itchiest hives I’ve ever known, from the top of my scalp to the bottom of my feet. After the hive break out over a span of a few weeks, she gave me the okay to continue taking spiro.
My skin has looked absolutely horrible up until the past couple weeks and I’m finally starting to see some improvement. I’m F22 140lbs 5’8, I’m taking 150mg a day. 50mg in afternoon, 100mg in the late evening.
I wait till after my morning workout to take spiro because if I take it prior, it will make me feel terrible sick and lightheaded during my workout. I take the larger dose before bed because it makes me feel like I can be more active and happy throughout the day.
Most of my current symptoms direct me back to spiro. I am more emotionally sensitive when taking spiro, I have some suicidal ideation(I’m okay :)), so much difficulty sleeping, difficulty staying asleep and waking up, heightened anxiety, heightened misophonia, pmdd, and ocd (diagnosed, but increased with spiro)
I’m just frustrated and would like to know others thoughts and similar opinions.
I have talked to my doctor already, and am not looking for advice or help. Just want to know I’m not alone. Hoping to get off spiro asap, but working towards clear skin to do laser scar removal without breaking out and making matters worse. I needed clear skin in order to do this.
*edit* I just saw someone post about their doctor taking them off spiro cold turkey due to it being hard on their kidneys and causing them to have a kidney stone!! I’d like to mention I’ve had TWO kidney stones since doing spiro. I definitely have more sensitive kidneys to begin with since I’ve already had two kidney stones before in my life time, but twice in one year is absolutely insane. The most recent kidney stone before was when I was on accutane years ago. (Both meds dehydrate so I am sure to stay on top of hydration)
