Managing risk in the face of a likely recession
53 y/o married American here, one small child. Seems like this cluster in Iran is going to keep going for quite a while. Also Seems super likely that we’ll see a recession at the very least or even an 08-09 situation at worst. Well WWIii would be worse but anyway…
I’m seriously considering just moving a good chunk if not all of my 401k out of the market and into much lower risk investments. Is this a dumb idea? I don’t see how that average American is going to survive unscathed with gas prices at record highs. I’m in pretty good shape overall but I’d love to turn this into a win instead of getting knocked down 20% and just shrugging my shoulders.
