Hi there! I'm 22 years old, just got my degree last year and I've been trying to figure out what to do with the downtime I have as a recent graduate.

Most of my family members never learned how to drive due to A) valid fears of the road and B) just not needing to drive. The only member of my immediate family who drove was my father, but he stopped due to age. However, it looks like I might be next to pick up the mantle.

But I'll admit; driving (as well as most new things) does make me nervous, like tummy-ache levels of nervous.

So far, I've been watching YouTube videos and reading threads about driving to learn anything I can. But I constantly think the money driving will cost money my family in terms of lessons, potentially getting my own car, maintenance, etc. (it's like going back to school again). I'm worried that I might anger them for learning how to drive (crazy, right?); they'll probably ask why I took the major that I did if I was so nervous about driving.

I don't really want to upset them, but if it's for the advancement of my career, I really should suck it up and go through with it and not let other people's opinions on what I should do with my life hold me back, shouldn't I? Lol.

So again, you guys got any tips, tricks, or heads-ups for any new/prospective drivers? And encouragement, that could help too.

Thank you all in advance!
