WGU and MGIB bill after separation

Hello. I am currently active duty in the Air Force. I’m starting my Bachelors in the last 6 months of my contract, so I can’t use Tuition assistance anymore. I just finished my associates though and want to start my B.S in I.T at WGU this August. With FAFSA, I would pay around 2k out of pocket, which I am fine with so finish my degree as fast as possible.

However, I get out in December, and the semester would likely end in February of 2027. I do have the MGIB bill and am wondering if the VA would still pay me for attending school those couple months after I separate, and how the monthly payment rate would be calculated (full time, part time, etc) if I’ve already completed a few classes that would put me under 18 credit hours (the full time MGIB rate) by January/February. Any insight would appreciated. Thank you
