Sudden onset dry and cracking patch on thumb that is very painful
Hello! For the last 2 months I’ve been dealing with this dry and splitting skin on the inside of my thumb finger. Month 1 it started out as a dry patch and beginning month 2 I developed splits in the skin that are extremely painful. I don’t overly wash my hands, I didn’t change my routine at all and this is the only area I have this issue. I do have a history of eczema. At this moment in time I am unable to see a dermatologist due to financial circumstances. My PCP will not help, only refer to derm. I’ve tried using Vaseline and polysporin to no avail. Please let me know if there’s anything OTC that may help with this. Thank you for your time!
