Question about mages, wraiths, and immortality
So I'm currently running an M20 game and one of my players is playing a 1,000 year old immortal. We were spitballing ideas about things that his character had done and been up to in all that time before the start of the chronicle, and one thing he said made me curious. He talked about how one of the times he "died" in a particularly gruesome way, his soul got trapped into an ashtray like the fate of other unfortunate wraiths before being snapped back into his body upon its regeneration.
Question is; would it actually work like that? How do wraiths or mages work when someone "dies" but will eventually regenerate? I'm vaguely familiar with how it works in Mummy but would it be the same with immortal mages? When you "die" as an immortal, do you actually become a wraith for a little while or is it just like a coma before you regenerate?
Thanks, guys! Really curious to learn about this
