Growing my own kyber crystals!

Hi! I’m quite new to this subreddit, found it out quite recently and was intrigued!

I’ve taken up a personal project to make my own kyber crystals (from Star Wars) for me and my friends as we’re huge Star Wars nerds, and was wondering if anyone has ever done this before, or any methods they would recommend, as well as which compounds to use for growing the best shape/size of crystals. I’m quite new to crystal growing but have a good amount of knowledge about there chemistry behind it.
Thanks so much everyone!

Making my own kyber crystals and would love some advice!

Hi! I’ve taken up a personal project of mine, to create kyber crystals for me and my friends as a sort of a gift, and cause we all love Star Wars. Now I ordered a quartz crystal from a website near my home and it arrived, but instead of it being lots of small crystals like I expected, it came out as one large crystal, as shown in the image.

Now I have two options here, I can either break this crystal in order to create smaller crystals (I don’t think they have to be perfectly uniform but similar-ish sizes) or I can return it and buy other ones instead.

My main question is, is smashing/shattering quartz a good idea for this project? Is it a reliable way?

Sorry if this post is not for this subreddit!
