Hello everyone I have a problem

When I make a game a widescreen 16.9 and get out and return it goes back to original even if I make it 16.9 in the general settings so how can I save it for every game I have

Another question I use retro arch to play snes and Sega genesis and gba but these games uses the d pad to move and I want to use the left analog stick but I didn't know how

So how can I map controller for each system? And how can I save them
