Hey everyone, my GM just asked if I wanted to move from morning stocking (mostly Wallcoverings) to a full-time Team Member position in Building Materials.
I'm used to the morning grind, but I know Building is a different beast. For those of you in 100:
What are the biggest "must-knows" for a newbie?
How much of the job is spent in the yard vs. on the floor?
What’s the learning curve like for things like lumber grades, roofing, and siding?
Any tips on dealing with contractors vs. regular DIYers?
I'd love to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly before I officially say yes. Thanks!
