Possible sick fish? Small honey gourami not doing well
Update: fish definitely died earlier today, was hoping for more time to be able to isolate and help it. There were some reddish spots on one side towards the tail. Will be taking it back to the store tomorrow.
Can anyone tell what's wrong with this fish? Is there anything telling on the video? Is the pale splotchiness and worn looking tail a concern? I found it wedged in between fern leaves and thought it was dead. It will swim if disturbed but will also lay on its side. I separated it to get it some more food and help prop it up near the surface but it's not eating. I got it from Petco 2 weeks ago and kind of had a feeling it wasn't going to thrive... Should have trusted my gut. Later today, I plan to look into getting a small setup for a quarantine tank. My tank is 4 months old so I'm still learning and appreciate all the advice and tips!
Everyone else is doing fine. We have platys, bloodfin tetras, cherry shrimp, a cory, and another honey gourami that's much bigger and doing well. I tested my parameters a week ago and retested just now, same results: Ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 0, Ph is 8.0. water temp 78F. Did a 25% water change 2 days ago, my biggest one to date.
