Living in Cluj as an expat / Romanian family

I’d love to hear your experiences!

My husband is Romanian (from a village not far from Cluj) but has lived his whole adult life in Spain, where we met and live now. I’m British myself, and we have a 2 year old.

We’re looking for a change of scenery and I love the idea of spending some time living in Romania, so our child can learn more about their roots, the culture, and the language.

I’ve not yet had the chance to visit Romania but we’re visiting Cluj soon and we will also explore it during this trip as a potential place to live.

What’s it like for raising a family, schooling, day to day life? Is it easy to integrate and meet friends as an expat?

We both work remotely and would hope to continue to do so, but don’t rule out the idea of working for a company in Cluj (though in my case I need to improve my language skills 😊)
