Bribing at the Revenue offices
We purchased a 600-square-yard plot in 2020. During a government survey conducted in 2023, a portion of our land was incorrectly recorded under the name of an adjacent landowner.
Now, when I approach the local surveyor to get this mistake corrected, he keeps asking me to visit repeatedly but is not taking any action to restore the land to our name. It appears that he is expecting a bribe to correct an error that was made during the government survey itself.
Why does the system have to be so corrupt? They make mistakes, and then the landowners are made to run from pillar to post to get those mistakes corrected—while officials expect bribes for simply doing their job.
