I went from ~80% to ~100% ping success in the same crazy obstructed spot in the span of a year, very impressed
I have a mini I use for roaming while camping. There is a spot we stay at for a few weeks that is very wooded with tall trees. When I set it up last year, the best I’d do was 80%. It was fine because we used it as a backup and didn’t expect more than just texting/basic browsing.
Fast forward to this year where I set it up again in the same spot and couldn’t believe I was getting 99.7-100% in 15 minute spans. I know they’ve added a lot to the constellation, and I think they also changed things so it doesn’t try to connect to anything that’s obstructed?
Either way, very cool. Very much NOT happy about the standby increase lol. Bought the mini specifically so I could do the free pause and not only is that gone, but it’s not twice the price…but at least
