I'm hoping to attend the Papal audience when I visit Rome from Ireland in August and am looking at Wednesday 12 August. The official Vatican site states that tickets are not required for this event, but I know from research that tickets are required. Does anyone know why this might be? Thanks in advance!

This is my first post on this sub. My Dad is 80 years old and has been in a care home since June last year after breaking his hip. He has had dementia for a number of years which has progressed in terms of his frailty and mental recall etc. As last few weeks he is sleeping a lot more and spends most of his time in bed. He's eating and drinking fine and has been up for a few hours at times but is more comfortable in bed.
I guess I'm asking if this means the end is near or imminent? We have known that his condition would deteriorate but I'm just trying to prepare myself and manage expectations as best I can. Thank you in advance.
