Patina or Henry's as a modding platform, or just get a Squier?
Hey all, I'm looking at a new HSS Strat to use as a modding project and I'm torn between three options:
Patina PS-7
Henry's Snake II ST-1CM
Squier
The plan is to swap the pickups and possibly the neck. I play mostly heavy/stoner stuff.
A few questions for anyone who's owned or worked on these:
How's the build quality and QC on Patina and Henry's long-term?
Any issues with the necks, frets or trems?
Are their neck pockets, pickguard holes and trem spacing Fender-spec?
Do aftermarket necks and loaded pickguards drop right in?
Has anyone swapped necks on a paulownia body? I'm worried about the screw holes stripping.
If I'm replacing the neck anyway, is there any point in buying the Patina or Henry's over a Squier body, or am I paying for features I'll throw away?
